Moyes plots transfer raid

David Moyes may now abandon his efforts to land Cardiff City's Aaron Ramsey after Manchester Utd had a £4.5m bid accepted.
Arsenal and Liverpool both had reported bids of £5m refused last week for the player but they both apparently contained lots of clauses regarding appearances and success. Now United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is understood to have put in a written offer of £4.5m for Ramsey while he has also offered to loan the 17-year-old starlet back to the Bluebirds next season and this has been accepted.
United appear to be leading the race for his signature, with the prospect of him being loaned back to Cardiff for the 2008-9 season an attractive one for the Welsh side. Others could also have an offer accepted and then it would come down to personal terms but Moyes may well feel he is too far behind in the race and now turn his attentions elsewhere.
