Niasse brings new dynamic - Calvert-Lewin

Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin has welcomed Oumar Niasse’s inclusion in the first team over recent weeks.

The Toffees have looked light in attack this season, having scored just 10 goals in 11 Premier League outings, and it looks unlikely that they will resolve the issue unless they can add in the January transfer window.

Calvert-Lewin has lead the line on his own for most of the campaign but he has recently been supported by Niasse following the sacking of Ronald Koeman.

Niasse proved his quality while on loan with Hull in the second half of last season and he has again looked bright when given opportunities by Everton.

Academy graduate Calvert-Lewin played alongside Niasse at times with the Under-23s in 2016-17 and he believes they can work together in the first team to get the club back on track.

Calvert-Lewin told Everton’s official website: "The more you play with someone, the better you get to know them and their game. I played with Oumar in the Under-23s last season, so we learned how each other plays.

"As a team, it gives you a different dynamic when you have two strikers. It can sometimes cause opponents more problems.

"It is good to have a hand up there sometimes. You can share the workload but I am happy to play up there by myself or with a partner."
