Sigurdsson searching for better

Gylfi Sigurdsson says Everton must get their season back on track this week, with three games over the course of eight days.

The Blues have had a tricky start to the campaign and are down in 16th place in the Premier League, just two points above the bottom three.

Boss Ronald Koeman has come in for some criticism in recent weeks while Sigurdsson - a £45million signing from Swansea - has also struggled to get going at Goodison Park.

Everton were beaten 1-0 by Burnley last time out and the Iceland international admits it's time to get a win under their belts when the Merseysiders take on Brighton on Sunday before a Europa League clash against Lyon on Thursday and then a big game at home to Arsenal a week on Sunday.

"We need to get back to winning ways," he told evertontv. "It was a disappointing result against Burnley last time out so it’s very important for us to start picking up points and it would be nice to do that on Sunday.

"It’s a big week for us. We’ve got three games now in the space of eight days or so, so it is important for us to start well and get a good result against Brighton. That will then take us into the next couple of games on Thursday and Sunday."
