Mercedes' chairman Niki Lauda has warned Lewis Hamilton that he must end team-mate Nico Rosberg's good run at the Malaysian Grand Prix.
The 67-year-old three-time Formula One drivers' champion has been an interested observer in the topsy-turvy battle between the team's drivers in 2016.
German driver Rosberg is chasing his first Drivers' Championship and won the opening four races of the season to lead his rival by 43 points, before Hamilton then took the honours in six from seven outings up to and including the German Grand Prix.
The 31-year-old boasted a 19-point lead over the summer break, but Rosberg has responded impressively by winning three successive races since the return in Belgium on August 28.
Hamilton is again trailing Rosberg by eight points heading into the Malaysia race on October 2 and Lauda feels it is imperative that the British driver acts quickly to halt his rival's growing momentum.
Lauda told RTL: "Lewis has to come back with all his strength in Kuala Lumpur to end Nico's incredible run."
