Massa tipped for Belgian return

Williams driver Felipe Massa is expected to recover in time for the Belgian Grand Prix following illness.

The Brazilian began to feel unwell after the second practice session ahead of the Hungarian GP and missed that race at the end of July as a result, with reserve driver Paul di Resta stepping in to fill the void.

Massa has since been diagnosed with labyrinthitis, a virus that attacks the inner ear, but reports indicate he will have recovered in time to return to action in Belgium after the summer break.

Di Resta failed to pick up any points in Hungary as he retired and fellow Williams driver Lance Stroll also failed to add to his tally.

Massa is currently 11th in the drivers' standings, one place and five points ahead of Stroll.
