Hangeland, who has just returned from injury, admits the current situation at Craven Cottage is serious but he has vowed to help get them back on form as soon as possible.
The Cottagers have lost five of their last six games and sit bottom of the Premier League table ahead of Sunday's tough clash at Manchester United.
They were also dumped out of the FA Cup by League One side Sheffield United on Tuesday, and boss Rene Meulensteen has admitted he hopes they have now hit "rock bottom".
Hangeland has echoed his manager's thoughts and says everything possible is being done to rectify matters.
He said:"We are going through a very tough time. I hope this is rock bottom. I can understand the frustration of the supporters and hope they get behind us.
"There will be no stone unturned in the quest to solve this. It's about who is up for the fight."
