Hangeland opens Cottage talks
Brede Hangeland has opened talks with Fulham about signing a new contract extension at Craven Cottage.
The 30-year-old Norwegian international central defender has been an integral part of the Cottagers' side since he joined the club from FC Copenhagen four years ago.
And, while several top Premier League clubs such as Arsenal and Liverpool have been credited with an interest in signing Hangeland following some rock solid performances at the heart of the Fulham defence over the seasons, he has remained loyal to the club.
Hangeland has 18 months remaining on his current deal, but Cottagers boss Martin Jol has revealed that he wants to keep him and his other 'best players', including skipper Danny Murphy, Andy Johnson and Clint Dempsey.
The Fulham Chronicle has confirmed that Hangeland is already in negotiations with the Londoners and it is hoped that an announcement on his future will not be too far away.
