Nigerian ace in Cottage link

Fulham have reportedly joined Norwich in the chase to sign unsettled Sporting Braga left-back Elderson Echiejile this summer.

Norwich are understood to hold a long-standing interest in the 25-year-old Nigeria international defender, with some reports linking him to Carrow Road surfacing last summer.

However as Canaries boss Chris Hughton secured a deal for Spanish left-back Javier Garrido, who is settled in Norfolk, a move for Elderson does not seem to be a priority.

Therefore Cottagers' boss Martin Jol, who is looking for defensive reinforcements, has been linked with a swoop by Portuguese newspaper A Bola.

The problem facing the Londoners is that German Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart are also interested and have reportedly made a £2.5million bid for Eldersaon, who still has two years left on his current deal in Portugal.
