Lahiri glad to make KL return

India's Anirban Lahiri hopes course knowledge will help him get his first PGA Tour win at this week's CIMB Classic in Malaysia.

The 29-year-old now plays the majority of his golf stateside and will tee it up in a strong field for the second tournament of the new season.

He opted to play in Macau last week and ended with seven birdies to take second place in the former Portuguese colony, and will stay in the Far Fast as the Americans make their annual trip to Kuala Lumpur for the co-sanctioned event.

The Bangalore resident has good memories of the West Course at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club after claiming the European Tour's Malaysian Open at the same venue in 2015, and he is relishing another crack at glory.

"It’s always nice to come back," he told reporters. "Obviously I’ve had some success in the past and being the beginning of the 2017 season on the PGA Tour, it’s nice to start that off at a familiar hunting ground."

The tournament has attracted some stellar names, with Adam Scott, in-form Paul Casey, Patrick Reed, Sergio Garcia and US Ryder Cup star Ryan Moore all set for a run-out.
