Mike Phelan says his Hull City players cannot feel sorry for themselves and is demanding a response against Stoke this weekend.

Hull: Boss fires rallying call

The Tigers' poor run of form continue with an alarming 6-1 hammering at Bournemouth at the weekend, to leave them sitting in 16th place in the Premier League.
It was a far cry from the performances that saw Phelan's men start the season in electric fashion, and came just 48 hours after he penned a deal to make him Tigers boss until the end of the season.
Hull now face a huge game when Stoke visit the KCOM Stadium this weekend, and Phelan is well aware there can be no repeat of the Vitality Stadium horror show.

"We can't feel sorry for ourselves, because if we do then it's going to be a hard slog," said Phelan. "We need to grow up quickly, accept the level we're at and how tough it's going to be.
"Listen, it's been an unbelievable task right from day one. I stood by everything and I committed myself to this football club and it's a long season.
"We don't want too many results like we've had in the last few weeks of course but we need to be stronger mentally, we need to be more disciplined and we need to regroup and get on with it."
