The Tigers were undone by nerves in a below-par display in a goalless home draw with already-relegated Bristol City on Friday, but are four points clear of nearest challengers Watford ahead of next weekend's penultimate game at Barnsley.
"We'll dust ourselves down and get ready for Barnsley now," said Bruce, whose side play promoted Cardiff at the KC Stadium on the final day.
He added on the club's official website: "I think the players will be better for the experience of last Friday because that was the first time I'd sensed any nerves and edginess.
"We've got ourselves into a position where we can go to Barnsley on Saturday and win promotion, and we'll be better than we were on Friday because, for sure, we can't be any worse.
"We're in a wonderful position and it's important that we stay positive.
"We're four points ahead, there's two games left and we need to win one of them.
"Who wouldn't have taken that a month ago let alone at the start of the season?
"We've got to get it in our minds that we have to go to Barnsley and get a result.
"If we can do that then we're promoted. Forget about what Watford do, it's all about us."
