Tigers target Palacios

Hull are reported to be lining up a move for Stoke midfielder Wilson Palacios, who is surplus to requirements at the Britannia Stadium.

Palacios has struggled to make an impact at Stoke after Tony Pulis snapped him up from Tottenham and although Mark Hughes is now in charge, it is thought the player will still be allowed to move on.

Hughes is keen to free up funds by getting the midfielder's £65,000-a-week salary off the wage bill and Tigers boss Steve Bruce could offer the player the chance to get his career back on track at the KC Stadium.

Bruce knows Palacios well after managing the player at both Birmingham and Wigan and it is thought he made an unsuccessful move to sign him on loan last summer.

Another attempt looks to be on the cards this close season and Stoke will be happy to strike a deal if the Tigers have the funds in place.
