England boss Sam Allardyce is set to be without Harry Kane for October's World Cup qualifiers because of an ankle ligament injury.
The Tottenham striker was stretchered off during the second half of Sunday's 1-0 Premier League win against Sunderland at White Hart Lane and it was speculated that he would be facing up to eight weeks on the sidelines.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino provided an update on Tuesday afternoon and, while he kept his cards close to his chest on how long Kane is expected to be absent for, the Argentine did confirm he has suffered a serious ankle problem.
"He is in a very good mood. Just before we were in the restaurant talking a little bit and he is in a very good way," Pochettino said.
"There are different rumours but we cannot guess. It's impossible to assess today and to know how long it will be."
While the news is an obvious blow to Spurs, it looks certain that Kane will also miss England's upcoming World Cup qualification Group F games against Malta at Wembley on October 8 and the trip to Slovenia on October 11.
Indeed if Kane is out for two months then he will also be a huge doubt to face Scotland at Wembley on November 11 and the friendly with Spain four days later
