Wan-Bissaka and Mings called up by Southgate

England boss Gareth Southgate has handed Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Tyrone Mings their first call-ups to the senior squad.

Wan-Bissaka has continued his excellent run of form since joining Manchester United from Crystal Palace in the summer.

He was part of the Under-21 squad for the European Championships, but he now gets the chance to impress in the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Kosovo.

Mings has featured in all three of Aston Villa’s Premier League games so far, and boss Dean Smith had backed him to be rewarded for his performances.

Chelsea playmaker Mason Mount is also named in the squad, and he will be looking to make his first appearance for the Three Lions.

Liverpool’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is included for the first time since March 2018, while Tottenham’s Kieran Trippier is recalled.

Gareth Southgate’s men will host Bulgaria at Wembley on September 7, before they then welcome Kosovo to St Mary’s Stadium three days later.
