Paul Pogba has revealed he told his France team-mates to grasp their chance of glory in a speech ahead of the World Cup final.

The 25-year-old was one of the stars for Les Bleus as they beat Croatia 4-2 on Sunday in Moscow to claim the sport’s biggest prize for the second time.

Criticised at Manchester United for not influencing games enough, the former Juventus man stepped up to the plate in Russia to be one of the leading lights for Didier Deschamps’ side and netted the third goal on Sunday.

He gathered his colleagues round him prior to kick-off and has now explained the substance of his pre-match pep talk.

Paul Pogba pep talk

Pogba said: ‘I told everyone before the game, ‘We are 90 minutes away from realising our dream, we are 90 minutes from entering into history books for life, and we were 90 minutes away from making France rock — even children, and their children, will know about this. So guys, we can do this. There are two teams and a cup and we are not going to let another team take this cup’.’
