Adams admits tough Granada task

La Liga

New coach Tony Adams insists he knows the size of the task he faces to try and save Granada from relegation.

The 50-year-old moved into the Granada hot-seat last week after Lucas Alcaraz was relieved of his duties following a dreadful run in La Liga.

The Nazaries currently sit 19th in the Spanish top-flight standings, with 20 points from 32 games played, and they are seven points from safety.

Adams’ first game in charge ended in a 3-0 loss at home to Celta Vigo, with Jozabed, Marcelo Diaz and Claudio Beauvue on target for the visitors.

The former England captain faces a mammoth task to try and lift his charges for the final six games of the campaign and is even considering giving himself a run-out.

“We’re all aware of our limitations,” he said. “We’re running out of forwards. I’m going to have to get my boots on.”
