Bale missed Wales’ recent international engagements as they failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup and Zidane has admitted he could be out for a further 10 days.
The winger sustained a calf injury towards the end of Real’s victory over Borussia Dortmund on September 26 and the club are yet to put a date on when he is likely to return.
Zidane was pressed on the injury ahead of their clash with Getafe on Saturday and the Frenchman admitted they are taking it day by day.
“I can’t say when he’ll be back, but he’s better, I can’t say if he’ll return in a week or 10 days, we’ll have to see,” Zidane said.
“He’s getting better every day. He had two problems, one in Dortmund when he only seemed a bit worn out, and then he had a different problem with his calf. Now we have to take it easy with him and be patient.”
Los Blancos host Bale’s former club Tottenham on Tuesday in the Champions League and it is expected the 28-year-old will have to watch from the stands.
