The Uruguayan has agreed a £75million move to the Catalan giants, with the deal expected to be completed over the next few days, meaning the Blaugrana will be able to call on three of the greatest attackers in the world with Lionel Messi and Neymar already at the club.
Despite him being unavailable for four months due to his ban for biting Italy's Giorgio Chiellini while playing at the World Cup, Bartomeu says he is expecting big things from the 27-year-old, who he feels will only add to Barca's already star-studded line-up.
"It is incredible to join those three players in the same club," he told Sky Sports' La Liga pundit Guillem Balague. "It's something fantastic and something unusual. It's unusual in the world of football to have three top players plus Iniesta, plus Busquets, plus Pique, plus Mascherano and the young ones that are coming - it's incredible to have this team."
