The playmaker has spent his entire career to date with the Blaugrana, initially joining as a 12-year-old and going on to win honours including eight La Liga titles and four Champions League crowns.
However, at 32, Iniesta is aware his time at the top level is starting to wind down although he was previously expected to sign an extension to his current deal, which expires in 2018.
The 2010 World Cup winner admits he is keeping his options open for now but insists he will not stay at the Nou Camp if he feels he would be better served elsewhere.
He said: "I've always been clear on that and, today, the only thing that would stop me playing would be not winning a title [Champions League and La Liga]. Beyond that, only at the end of the season will the time come to take everything into account.
"I'm not saying I won't extend my deal but I'll never choose to remain at Barca for the sake of remaining."
