The Blaugrana beat Deportivo La Coruna 4-0 on Saturday and will now turn their attention to their upcoming Champions League tie with the Citizens, which will see former boss Pep Guardiola return to the Nou Camp.
Barca have won all four of their previous competitive meetings but Guardiola is sure to set his team up in order make things as difficult as possible for the Catalans.
Rakitic admits his side are expecting an extremely tough clash, admitting they will need to almost perfect if they are to get the better of their Group C rivals.
“We will prepare for the [Manchester City] game in the same way as ever,” he told the club’s official website. “We will play against a technical team which we know very well and it will be very difficult.
“We will intend to play a perfect game as that’s what will be required to win the game.”
