The 24-year-old has regularly been linked with a move away from Anfield in the past 12 months, with Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona both said to be keeping an eye on the playmaker.
And now former Real striker Ronaldo has named Coutinho as the one player he would love his old team to sign.
“I would like to see Coutinho at Real Madrid, the Liverpool player,” Ronaldo told Onda Cero.
Coutinho, who joined Liverpool from Inter Milan in 2013 and has blossomed at Anfield to become one of the stars of the Premier League, is under contract with the Reds until 2020 and is thought to be settled on Merseyside but that will not stop the speculation that he will eventually make the move to La Liga.
Ronaldo was also asked who is currently the best player in the world and believes it’s close between his namesake Cristiano Ronaldo, and Barca duo Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
He added: “It is so difficult to choose just one as the best. They are very, very good. At the moment I will choose Cristiano as he is playing for Real Madrid, but we cannot forget how good Messi and Neymar are, and we must respect these players for the entertainment they bring us.”
Lyon boss Bruno Genesio has backed Nabil Fekir to deliver a big performance on Saturday in what could be his 'last game' for the club.
