Sevilla eye Wass swoop

La Liga

Sevilla are keeping tabs on Danish international Daniel Wass, whose contract negotiations with Celta Vigo have reportedly broken down.

The 28-year-old winger is currently under contract with Celta until the summer of 2019, but reports in Faro De Vigo claim that talks over extending that deal have hit a stumbling block.

Those suggestions appear to have put Sevilla on red alert, particularly as the Andalusians are managed by former Celta boss Eduardo Berizzo, who originally brought Wass to La Liga from French club Evian in the summer of 2015.

Wass has gone to make over 100 appearances since his arrival at the Balaidos, including seven outings in La Liga this season, while he has also scored in his last two matches against Eibar and Girona.

The former Benfica player, who is regarded as a bit of a set-piece specialist, is believed to be interested in a move to Sevilla and Celta could well choose to cash in on one of their prize assets during the summer, to avoid losing him on a free the following year.
