Club record signing Bale returns to the squad for Saturday's La Liga meeting with Athletic Bilbao after being out with an ankle injury and then suspended following his red card against Las Palmas.
Whilst welcoming him back to the fold head coach Zidane says that at 27-years-old he is still learning the game and there will be much more from him in years to come.
He told Sky: “He has a lot more to come. I retired at 34 and I was still learning at 34 all the time. It's the beauty of this sport. When you come to Madrid it's to do something different, learn more or to improve things.
"At 27 years old, he still has his whole life ahead of him to learn and, above all, to make history in this great club. I believe that's what he wants, to win important trophies - we're working on it."
