Ben Arfa’s career in Paris appeared to be drawing towards a conclusion over the summer but an exit failed to materialise.
A return to the PSG fold still looked unlikely, as he was frozen out and trained with the reserves at the start of the campaign.
However, there has been a thawing in relations between the forward and Emery allowed Ben Arfa to return to senior training on Friday.
Emery has now indicated the 30-year-old could make an appearance against his former club at the Parc des Princes on Sunday.
“He has been warmly welcomed back. It was a club decision,” Emery said.
“We will see if he makes Sunday’s squad.”
