Ayew rejects Bordeaux switch
Swansea City forward Andre Ayew has reportedly rejected the chance to move to Bordeaux in Ligue 1.
The Ghanaian spent last season on loan in Turkey with Fenerbahce and scored five goals in 29 league appearances.
Prior to that, he was with Swansea for six months in his second spell after making the move from West Ham.
He could not help them survive in the Premier League, and the 29-year-old’s big wages meant he was allowed to leave the following year.
However, he returned at the end of the season and has been re-integrated into the Swansea side under Steve Cooper, and scored twice from the bench against Northampton.
Bordeaux were understood to be keen on bringing him back to Ligue 1 on a loan deal.
However, fresh reports have indicated Ayew has rejected the move as he does not want to move back to France.
Cooper is also believed to be keen on keeping him around the dressing to add extra quality and experience to their thin squad.
