Boudebouz swaps Montpellier for Spain

Spanish side Real Betis have completed the signing of playmaker Ryad Boudebouz from Montpellier.

Boudebouz had been with La Paillade for two seasons, scoring 13 goals from 73 outings in all competitions for the Ligue 1 outfit.

The Algeria international had previously played for Sochaux and Bastia and his transfer to La Liga will be the 27-year-old's first taste of football overseas.

Having come up through the Sochaux youth teams and represented France at Under-17 and Under-19 level, the Colmar-born star switched his allegiance to the north African nation and has won 24 caps to date.

He will now get a chance to show what he can do in one of the toughest leagues in the world, with Montpellier receiving a fee of 7million euros for the player, who has signed a four-year deal at Estadio Benito Villamarin.
