Doria focused on Marseille

Marseille defender Doria says his focus is on helping the French club amid reported interest from Premier League giants Chelsea.

Doria, who joined the Ligue 1 outfit in 2014 from Botafogo for a fee believed to be seven million euros, has managed to break into the first team this season after spending loan spells at Sao Paulo and Granada.

The Brazil international has featured in eight of the nine league games this term and the impressive performances are said to have caught the eye of a number of top European teams.

Former English champions Chelsea, now under the guidance of Antonio Conte, are rumoured to be showing a keen interest in the 21-year-olds services and are ready to make a January.

However, although saying the reports of a switch to Stamford Bridge are nice to hear, Doria insists his only aim right now is to continue playing well for Marseille.

“Yes, I heard about [Chelsea’s reported interest] through social media,” he said, in an interview with Canal Football Club. “But I think that I need to continue to do my work. We have played eight games, I need to continue.

“I don’t know [if it is true]. I found out about it like you did. But that should not stop one from dreaming, they are one of biggest clubs in Europe.

“I am happy about these rumours, but what is most important is to continue playing well.”
