Lienard wanted to hurt Neymar

Strasbourg midfielder Dimitri Lienard has admitted he wanted to hurt Neymar in their dramtic win over Paris Saint-Germain.

The 29-year-old, who has come through the ranks with Strasbourg, clashed with the world’s most expensive player leading to a foul for Strasbourg.

He then found Nuno Da Costa with the resulting free kick and he netted the opener for Strasbourg, that led to complaints from the PSG star and Lienard said he was less than impressed with Neymar’s reaction.

“He [Neymar] was a bit annoyed – he knew very well that it was a foul,” Lienard told RMC Sport.

“He told me ‘you dived, you dived. I wanted to tell him ‘my dear, of course you are a star and of course you can do to us what you like but when you are dancing in front of me, my only desire is to hurt you’.

PSG will have the chance to exact some revenge on Strasbourg next week when they return to Stade de la Meinau in the Coupe de la Ligue although it is unlikely that Neymar will feature in the cup clash.
