Lille star confident of Champions League success
Lille winger Victor Osimhen says his team are in good shape ahead of their first Champions League game of the season.
The French side are playing in the Champions League for the first time in seven years after finishing second behind PSG last term.
They travel to Ajax on Tuesday evening, with the Dutch side fresh off an outstanding season last year in Europe after they reached the semi-finals before being narrowly beaten by Tottenham.
However, Nigeria international Osimhen is confident his side have the ability to overturn their opponents and make a mark in this season’s competition.
“We feel good. We have some strong individuals, but above all, we have a team,” Osimhen told Ligue 1 website. “We’re going to play a big club, they’ll be difficult to play, but we have what it takes to win it. We’re going there to win.”

Osimhen has had a brilliant start to his career at the Stade Pierre Mauroy and has already bagged five goals in five games for Christophe Galtier’s side.
They have started the Ligue 1 season in decent form, winning three of their five games and currently sit fifth in the table.
Osimhen was brought in as a replacement for Arsenal-bound Nicolas Pepe from Belgian outfit Charleroi and has thanked his team-mates for allowing him to settle in so fast.
“The other players, like the established players such as Jose Fonte and Benjamin Andre, do all they can to make me feel good, to help me settle in. I’d be nothing without them,” he added.
