Falcao completes Galatasaray switch
Radamel Falcao has cut all ties with Monaco after penning a three-year contract with Galatasaray before the transfer window slammed shut.
The Colombian star had yet to play for Monaco this season due to an ankle injury, and the Ligue 1 outfit were happy to let him move on when Galatasaray made their move.
The Turkish side had been heavily linked with Falcao throughout the summer and are delighted to have landed their man.
“An agreement has been reached with the professional football player Radamel Falcao Garcia Zarate and his club AS Monaco Football Club for a free transfer of the player,” Galatasaray announced.
“According to the agreement, the player will be paid a net transfer fee of €5 million for three seasons starting from the 2019-2020 season.”
The 33-year-old bagged 16 goals for Monaco last season and a total of 83 during his career with the club, but struggled during loan spells with Manchester United and Chelsea.
It caps a very busy summer for Galatasaray, with Falcao becoming their seventh new signing.
