Monaco face battle to keep Chelsea target
Monaco could face a battle to keep Benoit Badiashile in the summer as Chelsea are said to be targeting a move for the defender.
Chelsea are currently under a transfer embargo, but it will be lifted at the end of the season and reports claim they hope to make the 18-year-old one of their first signings.
The player has impressed when starting in six of Monaco’s eight Ligue 1 games this season and his form has caught the eye.
Blues boss Frank Lampard is said to be a big admirer and it is claimed that moves are already being made to have the deal ready to go when the summer window opens.
Monaco are keen to keep hold of their starlet although they know it will be difficult if Chelsea come forward and make the kind of offer they cannot refuse.
There is also a good chance the player himself would jump at the chance to join the Lampard revolution at Stamford Bridge.
Lampard is already getting the best out of a talented bunch of youngsters at Chelsea and there is a chance that Badiashile would like to be a part of that.
Badiashile has also recently been selected for the France Under-19 side and many believe it is only a matter of time before he makes his way through to the senior ranks.
Wolves were also heavily linked with a move in the summer and could reignite their interest, while Manchester United have also been mentioned.
