Monaco chief on Toffees radar

Monaco
Leonardo Jardim is an Everton target.

Monaco could be facing a battle to keep hold of coach Leonardo Jardim, following reports Everton could try and lure him away.

The Toffees are in the hunt for a new manager after parting company with Marco Silva last week, and reports have now emerged suggesting that Jardim is on their list of options.

Jardim sprung to prominence in the 2016/17 campaign when he guided Monaco to Ligue 1 glory and a place in the Champions League semi-finals.

He was axed by the club following a poor run of form, only to be brought back in for a second stint to replace Thierry Henry, who did not last long with the Principality outfit.

Jardim is slowly but surely getting Monaco moving in the right direction once again and his abilities as a coach have not gone unnoticed in the blue half of Merseyside.

Speculation is rife that an approach could be made sooner rather than later and Jardim may be tempted to coach in what is arguably the best league in world football.

Monaco are likely to do all they can to keep hold of their man and will knock back any approaches that are made by the English side.

Monaco remain in midtable after pulling away from the relegation places and are just four points off the Champions League places as they approach the turn of the year.

The powers that be will not want any distractions and will be hoping that Everton look elsewhere in the hunt for a new manager.
