Tuchel ready to recall PSG ace Neymar

Paris Saint Germain
Neymar is still on Barca's radar.

Paris Saint-Germain coach Thomas Tuchel is reportedly ready to recall Neymar for the first time this season.

The Ligue 1 champions share the lead at the top of the table after just four games. Despite a shock defeat to Rennes, PSG, on nine points, are joined at the top by Rennes, Nice and Angers.

Tuchel’s men have kept back-to-back clean sheets in their last few matches as their season continues to be distracted by Neymar’s future.

The Brazil international asked to leave the club during the summer transfer window but failed to leave the Parc des Princes after months of talks.

Former club Barcelona was his preferred destination but Neymar’s team failed to secure his return to the Nou Camp. With the transfer window now closed, Tuchel is willing to patch things up with the former Santos ace.

The club’s fans are set to give him a hostile reception but the Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, has urged the supporters to get behind him.

She told Tele Loisirs: “Neymar you are going to have to help us win. We lit up the Eiffel Tower in blue and red for you – Paris’ colours and PSG’s colours.

“And now, while we love you very much, you have to pull your socks up and win the Champions League for us.”

Tuchel’s men take on Strasbourg this weekend before they start their Champions League campaign.

The French champions were handed a tough group and will host Real Madrid on Wednesday, September 18. They will then face Galatasaray and Club Brugge and they are under immense pressure after recent failures in Europe.
