Matuidi rubbishes PSG rumours
Juventus midfielder Blaise Mautidi insists reports over a return to Paris Saint-Germain over the summer were “false”.
Matuidi left PSG for Juventus in the summer of 2017 for a fee in the region of 20million euros after turning out 295 times for the French champions.
The France international has been a regular for the Italian giants, making 90 appearances across all competitions, but he was linked with a return to Paris during the off-season, while Monaco were also understood to be keen.
Aaron Ramsey’s arrival fuelled speculation that he could struggle for game-time but Matuidi stayed put before the close of the window on Monday.
Matuidi insists PSG will always hold a special place in his heart but claims a return this summer was never on the cards.
“Me joining PSG? It was false,” Matuidi said.
“I always declared that I was comfortable at Juventus, one of the best clubs in the world. Paris will always have a place in my heart, I support PSG since I was a child and wearing their jersey was a dream. But now I’m proud to be a bianconero.”
