PSG prodigy Aouchiche yet to commit to new deal

The father of France Under-17 playmaker Adil Aouchiche says they are seeking assurances about Paris Saint-Germain's plans before signing a new deal.

Aouchiche has been the star man for the France squad that finished third in the Fifa Under-17 World Cup in Brazil and the 17-year-old will no doubt have caught the attention of many scouts during the tournament.

The Parisian teenager was awarded the Silver Ball as the second-best player to grace the tournament and generally impressed throughout France’s seven matches, finishing with a goal and seven assists.

It has been a big year for the youngster, who helped France to the semi-finals of the Uefa Under-17 Championships before he went on PSG’s first-team tour to Asia and then made his senior debut in August against Metz.

But the Ligue 1 champions have still not locked down their prodigy beyond next summer, with his current contract set to expire in June 2020.

It is not unusual for the Paris club to find themselves in such a situation and they have lost quite a few talents to bigger and better offers from elsewhere down the years.

But all the signs from Aouchiche are positive about committing to the Parc des Princes for the future.

“We are still in negotiations with PSG,” admits his father Karim Aouchiche to Le Parisien.

“Now, we want to know about PSG’s sporting project, whether Thomas Tuchel and Leonardo have a plan for him, with possibilities to play in the future.

“Adil is a young kid, he has been at PSG since the age of 12. Our son is not passing by here. If he can continue his career at PSG, he will be very happy and me, too.”
