William Vainqueur says he wants to make his loan spell at Marseille permanent in the summer.

The midfielder joined Les Phoceens on a season-long deal from Roma in August and has impressed in his 15 appearances to date.

Vainqueur has led a nomadic existence in recent years, having only managed a season apiece at Dynamo Moscow and the Giallorossi.

However, after moving around, he now feels he has found a home at his boyhood club and is keen to make his current loan a permanent arrangement.

He told La Provence: “I am on loan. The discussions, it is not up to me to have them. It is between the club and Roma.

“Now, everybody knows how much I love Marseille, the attachment I have to this town and to OM. I think that it is still a little early for discussions, we will see what happens. Marseille, is the club of my heart ever since I was little.”
