Fergie: No motivation needed

Peterborough United

Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson believes lifting his players for the visit of Championship leaders West Ham will be easy.

Posh were three minutes away from sealing a first win of 2012 on Saturday but a late goal from Jay Rodriguez meant they had to settle for a 1-1 draw at Burnley.

Ferguson’s side dropped a place to 18th in the table after Watford beat Barnsley and they now face two tough matches against title favourites West Ham at the weekend and away to third-placed Cardiff on February 14.

“It’s a nice easy fixture to follow!” joked Ferguson after the draw at Turf Moor. “But it’s also an easy one to prepare for as we are playing the biggest team in the Championship in front of a full house.

“Players don’t need any motivation for games like this, the match looks after itself.”
