Argyle manager Derek Adams says Ciftci, who is on a season-long loan deal at Home Park, will not be going back to parent club Celtic despite starting just six games for the League One side, failing to score so far.
Adams hopes the 25-year-old fights his way into contention in the second half of the season although he has suggested he could yet move on to another club this month, but a return to Parkhead is not on the agenda.
“The only way that Nadir will leave in January is if he goes to another club,” Adams told the Plymouth Herald.
“He won’t be returning to Celtic. He will be moving on to another club or he gets himself back in the team here.
“We just have to wait and see. His agent is on the case. I would like to see Nadir playing for us because he’s a talented individual, but he needs to play games somewhere.”
Ciftci has four goals in 26 senior appearances for the Hoops and has spent time out on loan at Polish side Pogon Szczecin and Eskisehirspor in his native Turkey in the past couple of years.
