Plymouth bring back Remi Matthews on loan from Norwich

Plymouth Argyle

Plymouth have secured the signing of Norwich goalkeeper Remi Matthews on loan for the rest of the season.

The 23-year-old Canaries stopper moved to Home Park on an emergency loan earlier this term but was forced to return to his parent club due to a leg injury sustained against Portsmouth last month.

He has now overcome that problem and rejoined the Pilgrims in training ahead of Saturday’s League One clash at Blackpool.

A statement on Plymouth’s website read: “Goalkeeper Remi Matthews has rejoined the Pilgrims for the rest of the Sky Bet League One season.

“With all three of Argyle’s contracted professional goalkeepers – Luke McCormick, Robbert te Loeke and Kyle Letheren – sidelined by injury, the first part of Remi’s stay will be covered by the EFL’s emergency loan regulations.

“That will be converted into a season-long loan when the transfer window opens after the holidays. Welcome back to Home Park, Remi.”
