The 21-year-old is set to be out of contract with Southampton next summer and the Premier League side are willing to listen to offers this month.
Wood has yet to make a Premier League appearance and has been granted permission to speak with potential suitors to plot his next move.
Portsmouth did welcome the left-back in for a training session last month, although Jackett insists he needs to see more of Wood before putting any deal on the table.
Jackett said: “There hasn’t been anything with him yet.
“We’ve had a look at him and we may have a look at him again.
“But he’s not someone we necessarily plan to move on without a further trial or game.
“We’ll see with him. He’s only had one day here and then gone off. But we will see how he does for us.”
