The 22-year-old ruptured ankle ligaments during the Glovers’ 1-0 League Two defeat by Carlisle on February 24 and had an operation to repair the damage on Wednesday.
A statement on the club’s official website, www.ytfc.net, said: ‘Town midfielder Jake Gray has been ruled out for for the rest of the season with an ankle injury picked up against Carlisle United at the end of February.
‘The 22-year-old was stretchered off in first-half stoppage time after sustaining the injury in the process of crossing the ball from the left flank.
‘Twisting awkwardly, Gray suffered ruptured ankle ligaments an,d after undergoing surgery on Wednesday, has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
‘All at YTFC wish Jake a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back on the pitch.’
