The former Italy head coach, who is currently out of work after leaving Valencia in January, has told French television that he was contacted by the Foxes after they decided to part ways with Ranieri last month.
The 59-year-old says he immediately rejected Leicester's approach due to the way they treated his fellow Italian, blasting the Premier League champions for sacking a manager who had "achieved something extraordinary”.
When asked by SFR Sport whether Leicester had offered him the job, Prandelli replied: “I immediately said no. You don’t accept a job like that. You don’t go there [Leicester] after seeing how Ranieri was treated. I am not going there. Full stop.”
Prandelli is one of several coaches to have attacked Leicester over their treatment of Ranieri, adding: “[Ranieri is] a coach who won a memorable, historic title and is then dumped after a few months.”
