Gunners ponder Crouch move

Arsenal will not follow up their interest in Liverpool's Peter Crouch if Emmanuel Adebayor decides to stay at the Emirates.

Arsene Wenger had been keeping a close eye on Crouch as a possible replacement for Adebayor who is wanted by AC Milan, but the Togo forward has now hinted that he might stay with the Gunners after all which in turn would be a blow to Rafa Benitez's hopes of getting as much as he can for Crouch.

Portsmouth still remain favourites to land the England striker but if Arsenal are interested as well Benitez would have more chance of getting closer to the £15m that he wants for him.

That in turn would lead to Benitez moving for Gareth Barry and David Silva but without the Crouch cash he may only be able to pursue one of those targets.
