The Brazilian has been out of the side since damaging his cruciate knee ligaments against Chelsea back in December and he is not expected back until next season.
The Reds were going very well at the time and had just enjoyed back to back away wins but since his departure from the side things have not gone as well for Kenny Dalglish's side and Saturday saw their season hit a new low with a home defeat to Wigan.
Leiva has told his team-mates to move on from the weekend and not let it bother them he told Twitter: "I know everyone is disappointed, but we need to move on and keep working."
He added: "My rehab is going well and hopefully I will be fit for next season. It was a bad injury so I need to recover properly to be strong again."
Since Levia has been absent boss Kenny Dalglish has used a number of players in the holding role with limited success as none of them have had the same impact that he had.
