Striker deal off

Liverpool's hopes of landing of AC Milan striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar have been blocked as the Italians says he is not leaving.

The Dutch international had looked as though he would be leaving Milan on loan in order to play his way into the Dutch squad for the World Cup and Liverpool were one of many Premiership clubs said to be keen on taking him.

Everton boss David Moyes was also interested in the former PSV and Ajax striker whilst Arsenal and Tottenham have also been linked but Milan general director Ariedo Braida is adamant that he is going nowhere.

He told tuttomercatoweb: "Huntelaar stays here, all talk is unnecessary. Arsenal? No, I repeat that the player remains at Milan."
