Wisdom grateful for Carra's advice
Liverpool youngster Andre Wisdom claims Jamie Carragher is already a coach in all but name, such his influence on the training ground.
Carragher, who is hanging up his boots up at the end of the season, is widely tipped for a tracksuit job at Anfield in the future and Wisdom would certainly welcome his appointment to the Reds backroom staff.
The 19-year-old defender says the former England international has played a key role in his own development after first coming across him as a young player in Liverpool's academy and even now he and his more experienced colleagues look up to him for advice.
Wisdom himself has come along way in a relatively short space of time since moving to Melwood five years ago, after initially spending time with Bradford, and he is honoured to be now playing alongside the likes of Carragher in the Liverpool first-team.
The Leeds-born full-back told the club's official magazine: "I was in the Under-16s and I remember Carragher taking some of our sessions as part of his coaching qualifications. From there I progressed through the ranks.
"To now be playing with him is great. I learned a lot from him back then and I'm still learning a lot from him now. He's still coaching me in training.
"In fact, I think he coaches everyone. He passes on so much information that he's almost doing the job of a coach already."
