City ace in Porto return link

Danilo could be offered an escape route out of Manchester City next summer by his former club Porto.

Reports in Portugal state his old employers are keen if the Brazil international decides to ask for a move away from the Etihad, having only arrived in the summer from Real Madrid for £25million.

It's believed the 26-year-old is concerned he could miss out on next summer's World Cup finals in Russia if he is not playing more regularly for Pep Guardiola, who substituted him at half-time in last Sunday's late 2-1 home win over West Ham United.

The City chief has consistently picked Kyle Walker ahead of him in his preferred position and he has even been overlooked at left-back, with midfielder Fabian Delph holding down that option in the absence of the long-term injured Benjamin Mendy.

Guardiola promised the two-time Champions League winner he would get plenty of opportunities but Danilo has been limited to just 13 bit-part appearances so far.

The samba star spent three years at Porto before Real came knocking in 2015, with the Portugal giants interested if there is now a loan or a cut-price deal to be had.
