Hughes waits on winger
Man City, Updated:
Mark Hughes is hopeful that Shaun Wright-Phillips will have recovered from his knee injury in time to face Tottenham.
The winger was hoping to return against Manchester United at the weekend but he suffered a setback and was forced to miss the Old Trafford showdown.
However, Hughes is confident that Wright-Phillips is making good progress from his injury and he could return against Spurs after missing the last six games.
"He had a setback last week," Hughes told the club's official website. "He had a bang on his knee which really stopped him in his tracks when that happened.
"He was not anywhere near being fit for Sunday unfortunately, but we hope that the knee will settle down and that he will be an option for us for next week."
