New men set for debuts

Kyle Walker, Danilo and Ederson are in line to make their debuts against Brighton in Manchester City's opener on Saturday.

Boss Pep Guardiola has spent heavily this summer and will showcase his new talent although fellow summer recruit Benjamin Mendy will miss out with a thigh problem.

However, he could well be in contention to face Girona in Tuesday's friendly and Everton in the second game of the campaign.

Bernardo Silva is available for the Citizens but is likely to start from the bench due to a lack match fitness after an extended summer break.

He too should be fine to face the Italians, but the boss has confirmed that Ilkay Gundogan will miss the trip to the Amex Stadium although he is close to a return from knee ligament damage suffered last December.
