United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has been heavily linked with bringing in a new centre-half in the summer transfer window as he looks to find long-term replacements for veteran duo Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic.
Eliaquam Mangala, Frickson Erazo and Dede have all been linked with a move to Old Trafford, while reports recently suggested a deal was close to being agreed with Benfica for the services of Ezequiel Garay.
However, while Barcelona have been linked with Hummels, his father is adamant that there has been no contact with the Spanish outfit, although he confirmed that the player would relish the chance to join one of Europe's top clubs.
Speaking to Bild, he said: "I have had no contact with FC Barcelona. I've just heard the rumour.
"Every top footballer has ambitions to play sometime at some European clubs, which you can imagine. These include Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Manchester United."
